The Catalogue of Program Solutions and Developers

One of the most importance in the work of “Silicon Taiga” is the information field. In modern time, the information is being an instrumental tool, leading to activity and objects of the work. 

From the beginning of the work the “Silicon Taiga” has been compiling and analyzing the information source about companies working in IT market. On this way, the first step became a catalogue development of the Alliance’ members which are represented on the ST site. In this catalogue any individual or firm can find a brief information about company and company’s Web site. As the members of the Alliance are increasing the information source has been renewing and editing constantly.  

 Information of the companies - members of the Alliance in 2001-2002 - became a main contribution in the market outsourcing research (offshore programming as a different term was used in previous time), that was carried out by the Russian representative of Gartner company.

Specific versions of the catalogue were issued by the request of the world largest IT vendors as well as for presentation the information on the trade shows and conferences on various subjects. These kinds of versions included the information source in narrow fields of activities of the companies - members of the Alliance. 

The next step was a compiling an information source and publication issue together with publishing project of Vasiliy Burov’s manual guide which include the information about software and software/hardware developers from Russia and CIS. In April 2004, publication of the catalogue “IT outsourcing in Russia” demonstrated that this type of information is necessary to numerous participants of the market. Among the information consumers of their catalogue were investment funds’ representatives and the largest transnational companies’ representatives as well as developers. The catalogue was divided into two parts (companies and solutions) that allowed users to have more comfortable instrumental tool for searching partners and essential solutions.

 In 2005 the publication of catalogue’ series will be continuing. Compiling and renewing the data, the catalogue has been created on the basis of updated version of the applications for companies and their solutions. It allows to analyze the information source easily, to compare the structure and possibility of presented solutions, and to choose necessary companies for outsourcings of projects. The main addition of the catalogue will become the unified rubricator for companies and their solutions which allows users of the catalogue to search the information quickly and efficiently.
